The Shawdale Jaggernaut Rolls Into Town To Steamrole Norden….

Someone said before the game… 'What's that noise?' I replied.. 'That's the Shawdale juggernaut warming up'

And they did just that, from the kick off, Shawdale went through all the gears to enforced their authority on the game in this one sided encounter.

Shawdale took control from the outset, with intricate passes and full of enthusiasm.

It didn't take long before they got on the score sheet. The eloquent Holmes bagging his first of his first half hat-trick.

Minutes later that man was through on goal again to finish off a flowing move…

Tommy 'The Rock' was up next with a rare goal.

On the only Norden attack of the game, they put some good passes together for a smart finish from Sam Hall.

Holmes had the final word of the half to complete his hatrick as he outwitted the Norden defence and slotted the ball home for a 4-1 half time lead.

It would of been understandable if Shawdale took their foot off the pedal, but it was the complete opposite, they were tireless and ruthless to the end.

Morrow and Crothers bring a different dimension to the team with their awareness of space.

It was Morrow next to score with a penalty. Crothers bagged a brace and bossed the midfield all morning.

'Slim Fast' Barnes wasn't going to miss the opportunity to bag a goal and on 80 mins he did just that.

Sadly, Norden didn't help themselves as a player slotted a goal passed his own keeper in a mixup in defence.

Durrant had the chance to get on the score sheet as well with a tap in.

Coach Wylie jokingly commented after the game, 'They might have all the money in Norden but we have the brawn.. But seriously, it was a good last run out for us, before next week… I’ve prewarned the guys that preparation is the key this season, early nights, healthy eating and girlfriends off limit next Saturday night'
