Classy Crown take the Spoils….

Crown took the points in this top of the table clash and really deserved their win on the day. The visitors were out muscled and out bustled, given them no time on the ball all morning, Crown pressed in every area of the pitch. Shawdale panicked and gave the ball away on umpteen occasions. They weren’t aloud to play with fluency as usual and it was the home side that looked to have more time on the ball and executed their passes to perfection.

From the kick off Crown were in control, passing the ball about at will. On twelve minutes, the ball was in the net from a corner for the home side, but was ruled out for an obstruction in the box.

But on 16minues, Crown opened the scoring, from a free kick, the ball was headed home. Their second came from a penalty, as the ball bounced up at a strange angle and hit a hand and the penalty was executed.

On 30 minutes, the visitors saw a chink of light at the end of the tunnel, as they were awarded a penalty for handball, which Durrant converted.

Crowns speedy winger caused the visitors problems all morning, with his lightning pace and ability to beat a man.

Just on half time their third, a calamity of errors, from Shawdale in their penalty area and the ball limped over the line 3-1 to Crown at the break.

The second half much as the first, however, the visitors did show patches of how they can play, with some lovely passing movements, but the final pass either cut out by a Crown player or the pass went astray.

On 75 minutes, the game was put to bed, as crown hit their fourth from a 60 yrd diagonal ball, the resulting shot found the bottom right corner. Ellidge produced some good saves to keep the home side at bay in the second half.

Shawdale didn’t have any response to the better team on the day.

The visitors almost seemed overwhelmed by the quick start by Crown and couldn’t get into the game thereafter.

Wylie was a little disappointed with the result, but admitted.. ‘ They were a good side and done their homework on us, pressing us at every point, so stopping us to play our normal free flowing game. We put this to bed and prepare for next weeks game.’
