Brushes Fc 0 Shawdale 4

As Shawdale win “Rose bowl Cup Final” in Spectacular Fashion.….
On a Sun struck Glossop Park, a festival of football was in store from the rampant Shawdale stars.
To end the season on a high, as their season comes to a conclusion.
Shawdale took to the field full of confidence, as previously beating their hosts, comfortable earlier in the season. Shawdale started slow in first gear at the start but as the game progressed, they went through the gears to octane levels at times. Having their opponents doing a lively fandango and chasing shadows at times.
With Thursday night’s drama, now history, Shawdale took to their task and were never in doubt, that this was one cup that wasn’t going to get away from them.
The huge pitch helped the boys pass the ball methodically all afternoon. In the early exchanges saw a few early chances go astray, with Liam Kelly hitting the bar after just 8 mins and the on fire Holmes going close too.
They didn’t open the scoring until the 40th min, as Holmes put a long throw in over the defense, which was met by a flying ‘Tommy The Rock’ who spectacularly produced a scissor kick to open the scoring.
One nil at half time and it was ready for Shawdale to put on a spectacle and show their dominance in this Final.
The second half, Shawdale completely controlled the game, with Brushes not having a single attempt on goal.
However, the quadrant defence of Allot, Temple, Lewis and Alistair Ryan, were like the great wall, nothing was coming through, over, or around it on this day.
On 55 mins, Shawdale doubled their lead, as Holmes flicked the ball over the oncoming defence, for Durrant to majestically lob the bewildered keeper. Five minutes later, bad defending by Brushes, saw Holmes pounce like a puma, to win the ball, take it round the keeper, to put the game out of sight for Brushes. Shawdale, in cruise control for rest of the game, shooting at will, until Holmes struck again, for a famous victory.
Which will see celebrations going on into the early morning.
An ecstatic Wylie commented in the post match interview
